As I suspected. Will both the pad and usb-mouse work. Is there drivers for the ATI video avaible
somewhere?
Any other culprits to think about? Like: S-Video Out, the Fn-keys, IR-connections,
Energie management,
soundcard, hotswap cd/dvd -- Floppy etc?
It is extremely safe to install FC4. If you have
any
problems, post the output from "lspci -vv" I
have Fedora
working on two laptops; a very old Dell and a
relatively new
Sony. The only issue (on both) is the modem. If
I really
needed it, I could figure out one of the various
solutions.
BTW, I have an ALPS touchpad and a USB Logitech.
Both work on
the Sony.
I have not tried with a Compaq but it works fine on a Dell Latitude D810 from Dell which I have double booted in FC4 and WinXP. --

I have FC4 working on my hp pavilion zv5440. It has an ALPS touchpad, nvidia 440, and and broadcom 4309 wifi.
I had to use ndiswrapper to get the wifi working, but that was easy. It took a little tweaking to get the touchpad scroll working, but the touchpad and usb mouse worked out of the box. I haven't tried the modem.
I took notes if anyone needs info on stuff I got working. Oh, and I'm using the 32bit on it.
