Greetings,
While trying a two-screen setup with my Dell XPS 13 (9380), I've lost my
display settings and I can't seem to be able to restore them.
The laptop's display specs are 1920 x 1080. But even though I get an
approximation, when I reboot, the configuration isn't saved, and the desktop shows up in the tiniest resolution possible.
I then try and to set it to 1920 x 1080, and I fumble between different
settings before it's close to the native look.
Also, the restored display doesn't expand to the full dimension of the
available screen.
Thank you in advance for any advice here.
Dell's spec sheet says that the screen's resolution 1920x1080 with an aspect ratio of 16:9. But when I tried setting it to that, the setting wouldn't expand to the full width of the screen.
Finally, I tried using a different desktop - GNOME.
When I checked the display settings it said 3840x2160 and scaled 250% (the latter didn't make any sense).
When I went back into XFCE, I set the display to 3840x2160 and scaled it by .5 (custom). That seems to be correct.
fyi,
M
