I don't understand. My mouse curser looks just like all mouse cursors look since forever. Just a black arrow and I did nothing but install F13. What does your cursor look like?
It's the dmz-cursor theme, I would reckon.
System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Customize -> Pointer
change "dmz-aa" to something else. I use Bluecurve-inverse.
