Why that? Yum would automatically offer a needed new key.

That doesn't answer above question, but perhaps you didn't want that.
What I mean is: The Fedora 21 key is included with Fedora 20 since Nov 2013 or so, see /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/*fedora-21* and therefore it is available to Yum, for example.
