Is there a way to substitute mariadb?
I have not heard of "gerbera". Is it common knowledge as to what it is and

can be obtained?
Not knowing what it is, the procedure to compile, and the error messages would seem
to limit the amount of help you can expect. I wonder if the place where you obtained
the software may be of more assistance?
Pure guess on my part.... Do you have to run a "config" script to set up the
environment to compile? Is that where detecting mysql fails?
