A few days ago I installed the KDE 3.5.3 updates to my FC5 system. KDE had previously been at 3.5.2. Yesterday I went to rip a couple of CDs using KAudiocreator and it failed, saying audiocd was an unknown protocol.

rpm -qpl kdemultimedia-3.5.3-0.1.fc5.i386.rpm | grep audiocd /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/audiocd_extract.desktop /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/audiocd_play.desktop /usr/share/doc/HTML/en/kioslave/audiocd.docbook
I didn't see anything mentioned about this in previous messages to this list and googling for this problem turned up old reports on much older versions of KDE but nothing recent. I took a look at the KDE bug reports and didn't see anything there, either.
Did this get left out of kdemultimedia by mistake
mistake most likely. See http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/196605

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to know it's not me. My mistake was looking in the kde.org bug lists. Searching through the redhat.com I also found this:
I am having the same problem, I first thought and I still think it could be related to the different version of kdemultimedia and Kdemultimedia-extra and extra-nonfree that I have installed. I have tried to rebuild the rpm but it breaks with a error related to arts includes. It is something with the spec as I managed to compile it just fine when doing it directly with the package.
This is what I have installed, the extras are not even available in 3.5.3, it is really strange the way this updated was released.
kdemultimedia.i386 6:3.5.3-0.1.fc5 kdemultimedia-extras.i386 6:3.5.2-5.fc5 kdemultimedia-extras-nonfree.i386 3.5.1-2.lvn5
Have you guys managed to compile the extras yourselves?
Thanks Vini
