Can anyone suggest a wifi 300 or 600 mbps usb dongle that will work
with multiple fedora machines ranging from fc18 to fc27 ?

Do you really need a wifi dongle or could you use a wifi extender with
ethernet cables? In my experience , if you don't need mobility so can live with cables, wifi extenders have better antennae and are generally much less troublesome than USB dongles once you get them set up.
