Of course, make sure that your cpuspeed service
(this script enables/disables processor frequency scaling support, either using
the cpuspeed daemon or in-kernel frequency scaling support)
is enabled and running on your 2,3,4,5 runlevels.
You can do it manually (chkconfig --help) or via System - Administration -
Services.
