hi. sorry for asking again, just hope some one has a clue.
just installed fedora core (upgrade from the 200310xx to the 200311xx release), upon reboot kudzo removed my old printer configuration, and now i cannot find the printer that is connected to the USB-port, nor can i find any other device on the USB-port.
the USB-hub i use is only showing a light for power, all other lights are off (normally the connected are on).
prior to the upgrade it worked.
is there some service that has not started? perhaps some files happen to be corrupted, what files should i reinstall then? any other suggestions?
thanks in advance kb
here is some more information.
when i run usbview as root is responds with an error message that says: Can not open the file /proc/bus/usb/devices
Verify that you have USB compiled into your kernel, have the USB core modules loaded, and have the usbdevfs filesystem mounted.
how do i check all this?
i found out that i have no such file as /proc/bus/usb/devices, not even the directory /proc/bus/usb/
i tried to create one as root, but i was not allowed, then i treid to chmod on the bus diorectory to then be able to create a usb directory but chmod said: operation not permitted.
help still needed and appreciated. kb
