Not sure if it is related. I've seen messages about /run/user/1000 directory not existing for a number of things in the message log.
Have found that if I open a terminal and ssh into the same machine with the same user id, the directory is created and the error messages don't show up.
Thought of creating a start up process to automatically do this on login.
