Now I've tried two disks from the Fedora site.
Both the "proper" Fedora Workstation, and the Fedora Cinnamon spin. I get the same result with both - they go through the installation routine, ending with a statement that the installation is finished and I can start use the system. Upon reboot, removing the DVD I get a "No operating system" error.
Very weird. This is on a HP 2570p Elitebook.

If instead I install Linux Mint 18.1 (Beta) I have no problems at all after installation.
Any ideas? Maybe I should just stay on Mint ...
