. / had to take a break from that mess. It quit being accessible after a reboot following a series of power drop outs. I will get back to it, may clear everything and reinstall FC32 again, with "standard partitions" as I prefer.
I appreciated the time everyone spent offering help. As I say I have to fix the samba server but it should not be so difficult. /
