Hiisi, 13.02.20, 18:03 CET:
I was trying to get telnet server up and running on my fedora 31. I have installed telnet-server package using dnf. systemctl list-unit-files outputs: telnet@.service static However, when I try to start or check status of it this is what I get: $ systemctl status telnet@.service Failed to get properties: Unit name telnet@.service is neither a valid invocation ID nor unit name. How do I start telnetd server?
I guess it's supposed to be socket-activated, i. e. do systemctl start telnet.socket
That said, are you really sure you want a telnet server? What is it that cannot be handled much better / more secure by SSH?
