Well, I don't think this is exactly correct.
As I noted, the incorrect output started on 4/16
Apr 16 11:55:33 ws.linuxlighthouse.com http://ws.linuxlighthouse.com named[496814]: using 7 UDP listeners per interface Apr 16 11:55:33 ws.linuxlighthouse.com http://ws.linuxlighthouse.com named[496814]: listening on IPv4 interface lo, 127.0.0.1#53 Apr 16 11:55:33 ws.linuxlighthouse.com http://ws.linuxlighthouse.com named[496814]: command channel listening on 127.0.0.1#953 Apr 16 12:05:36 ws.linuxlighthouse.com http://ws.linuxlighthouse.com named[496814]: no longer listening on 127.0.0.1#53
At that time I hadn't made any directions as to what needed changing.
Also, on 4/21 you indicated
named 1263562 1 0 13:59 ? 00:00:05 /usr/sbin/named -u named -c /etc/named.conf -4
but today you indicated
1815795 ? Ssl 0:09 /usr/sbin/named -u named -c /etc/named.conf
So, something was changed to add/remove the -4 option. Not something I recall talking about.
It almost seems as if this is still being picked up in named.conf
options { listen-on port 53 { 127.0.0.1; }; listen-on-v6 port 53 { ::1; };
this was a mystery to me too; i had -4 in a named.conf/options later i looked for it, but w/o success; maybe the named.service script??
Maybe send your current named.conf?
attaching isnt happening for some reason so i'l need to inline it. it should be exactly as you sent me, pls yell if not so?
