Hi, I have a fc27 system that I just upgraded from fc26. I've been having a problem for the last five or six kernels (three months, maybe) where booting the default kernel results in the system booting to a blank screen and being unresponsive. No mouse activity, no ability to reach it from a remote system.
So this has been going on with fc26 before the upgrade to fc27 as well.
I'm an experienced Linux admin, but not familiar with the new graphical boot.
If I boot into runlevel 3 then run "systemctl isolate graphical.target" it starts wayland normally.
I'm not sure what information to provide to help troubleshoot this. I can't tell what the last boot message printed is before the screen goes blank. I also don't see anything in messages or boot.log because it only shows the most recent boot.
I believe it's somehow related to the kernel because it boots properly with an old rescue kernel.

I didn't see any recent tickets for this in bugzilla, and unfortunately I don't know enough to point you to a solution. But, the continuous repeat of the failure by gnome-session-binary to get a session from org.freedesktop.systemd1 would seem to be relevant.
I advise opening a bugzilla so someone knowledgeable can point you in the right direction. Gnome session or systemd would be my choice for what to open it against.

I suggest booting multi-user.target (runlevel 3) and running abrt-cli list, and see if you can find the problem listed, and use the cli to get it reported in bugzilla.
