is the current schedule over at fedora.redhat.com accurate? it claims that FC3 will release to mirrors tomorrow morning, but i just did a quick check of a dozen random mirrors and nowhere did i run across an FC 3 protected download directory.
typically, a couple days before the actual release, you'll find a lot of mirrors with a release directory that you just don't have permission to get into, which is fine. but it's odd that i didn't notice even a locked directory anywhere.
what's the current thought on release date?

never mind, i read more carefully and realized that the release-to-world date was nov 8, not nov 6. i was confused since, historically, the official announcement on the RH mailing lists seems to come a couple days after the actual mirrors are running. time for more coffee. ack.

If I remember correctly I believe torrents of FC2 were available at about the same time as release to mirrors, several days ahead of release to world.

I think releasing the bittorrent early is a great idea if it has a md5 checksum that i can use to verify the integrity reliably. it solves the mirroring delay. however it should probably be done by redhat itself rather than someone breaking the gentleman's agreement of restricted mirroring only access regards Rahul Sundaram

With FC2 their were MD5 sums (wouldn't trust torrent without them) and I think the early torrent I found was from Duke. Not sure if that's official enough for you, but it worked well for me.

So, if the release is tomorrow, it should be on the Torrent yesterday? According to the schedule, FC3 was supposed to be released to mirrors then.
This means that I should get the BitTorrent client and install it now and start 'slurping'.
Thank you.

Not the case if speaking about official availability and not premature leaking. See the thread

and especially the 2 replies by Seth Vidal (duke.edu admin).

Thanks. Looks like I get to start tomorrow afternoon. I guess I should get a torrent client and configure it to point to duke.edu. My guess is that they are going to get slammed with traffic. Hopefully, the folks who run the Torrent will get it settled by the time I get home (which should be about two hours after the release.)
As always, thank you.

Hi,
Am I right if I say the release is in approx 12 hours from my time of writing?
Is there a way to help serve the files? Bottorent? How to do this, only start a client and start dl the file? And where would the torrents be released?
