My computer was locking up and I couldn't open or close anything. I did a ps aux and found that dropbox was consuming 117% of the CPU and 70% of memory, after awhile I was able to Kill Dropbox and then I uninstalled it and now my computer is back to normal.
What the "H" is happening ?

I am not sure about this comment. I have had Dropbox on both Fedora and Ubuntu and not an issue. With a goodie bag of alternatives to Dropbox which I have never tried, maybe it's time to try elsewhere. Roger
I've been susing Dropbox on Linux, Windows, Android etc. for years without issue. Work uses them all the time for sync'ing with business partners.
Software goes wrong sometimes. With the infinite variety of installations it's impossible not to. Don't get parranoid folks.

Ditto Gary's comment. Currently using Dropbox on Fedora 21 on 3 systems and my Android phone and haven't had a hiccough I can't trace to my fat fingers.

My Dropbox just updated its software (that is controlled through the Dropbox application, not the normal Linux package management), and that update process could have something to do with the program eating so much CPU and RAM.
