Hi,
running an full updated Fedora 33 I have the following problem:
For a few days I have been observing that the screen isn't locked when the system comes up after suspend. What could I have changed unintentionally or is a general problem?
Regards, Frank

Have you disabled the screen lock timeout?

Will it lock when pressing Super+L?

I'sorry that I can't answer because I do know what "Super+L" is.

On most keyboards, near the left ALT key, there is a key with a "Windows" logo on it.
It is called "Meta" or "Super" key in Linux.
Super+L means press "Super" key and the "L" key at the same time.

After I've learned what "SuperL" means I must say: Nothing happens.

By default, Super+L should be the shoutcut for screenlock. In your case, if you didn't change the shoutcut, that means your screen lock is not working at all.
What DE (desktop environment, e.g. Gnome, KDE...), DM (Display Manager, the program that askes you your password when login, e.g. GDM, SDDM...) and Session type (can be acquired by echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE) are you currently on?

I'm on MATE and screen lock works perfect if done manually from the "System" menu.

No.
Does the screen ever lock if you leave the computer idle? What are the screen lock settings at right now? And I just realized that no one has asked what desktop environment you are running.

Yes.

Activate screensaver when computer is idle [after 1 h] Lock screen when screensaver is active [Yes]

MATE.

If you don't have a "modern" keyboard with a left Windows key, you can push ctrl+esc to get the same effect. In most cases, the right Windows key does nothing, so it is a good choice for the Compose key. If you don't have that--as I don't, using an IBM model M k/b—right-alt is a good choice. --doug

I don't think that's the default for all desktops. On mine, using MATE, it's CTRL ALT L. And I don't recall setting that combination, myself.

Just a shot in the dark, but how long is your computer suspended before you wake it up? If it's less then an hour, then maybe the screensaver just hasn't started yet.

I don't know about other environments, but Gnome locks the screen before activating the suspend. And I've never seen anything else on any other platform.

I've just suspended and then woke up my laptop (Fedora 32, Xfce) and the screen wasn't locked. (This doesn't happen when it's suspended all night.)
It's too bad that the OP's problem is unrelated.

I'm also on MATE and it appears "Super" is not the Windows Key, but <CTRL><ALT>. This works for SuperL and several other compiz bindings that specify "Super".

I must add that after the defined period of idle time the screen is locked.

Just to inform you:
The problem has disappeared with kernel 5.11.18-200.fc33.x86_64.
