Yeah, like ya sure have to be careful with knail about which identity is sending! hahaha
I thought if I just set the smtp transport for the identity then all would be fine, but kmail doesn't necessarily choose the correct identity when you hit reply :-)

KMail has some pretty powerful tools for configuring and managing multiple email accounts, and it takes some learning. Let's assume you've created a filter in Kmail to send all your fedora-list traffic into a subfolder. Let's assume you've also set up a number of identities (I set up a separate identity for each email account, and configure the sigs differently for example); you could then right click on that folder, and in the properties for that folder, you could choose which identity would be used for all replies to mail originating from that folder. Now, that's just scratching the surface...

I will have to try some of that. I've got the separate identities and the separate sigs, but o folders yet. Never made new folders of used filters. Just tonight, I decided to try to fetch yahoo and google mail.
Yahoo works great, but google doesn't. I can send to google, but not receive reliably. When I try to receive, nothing happens, so I log in and the mail is there. I set pop enabled and it sets a time, the time of my last email. I log out and download and all mail comes. I send another, and same thing. It won't come and I have to log in and reset pop enable again and the time now is the time of this next letter, etc. Strange.

Not enough info to say. I have two google accounts. I have all mail sent to each automatically forwarded to one of my regular ISP accounts. But, I have smtp set up one of them, and that works reliably. I also used pop for awhile, but for reasons I no longer remember, I stopped doing it that way. I've got seven different addresses I manage, and my system is convoluted, but works well for my situation. I can check my mail from any of many machines I might be working at during the day. During those checks, the messages are downloaded but not deleted from the servers. Late in the night, I have one archival machine that downloads from all the accounts and deletes the messages from the servers at that point. I have a central archive that way, but, can always get my mail from anywhere during the day. Some day, I'll have to get around to setting up imap, but, it's not on my high priority list because what I've got is working well.

Sounds very efficient... but complicated! :-) I'm glad I just have to deal with the one computer and the coupel of addresses I have. Really wanted to get even less addresses, but msn and yahoo , and even google, more or less force you to have one, so there's 3 plus the main isp one. I prefer to use the isp email. It does mean I am somewhat hostage to them, however, because the thought of trying a different provider gives me shivers, changing all of those addresses to people and companies and services. Yikes! I like my isp because they seem reliable and seem to have very good spam protection (spamassassin hardly has to do anything).
