Look around in /etc/yum.repos.d? for files with an extension of .rpmnew (i.e. fedora-updates-released.rpmnew) and do a:
mv fedora-updates-released.rpmnew fedora-updates-released.repo or whatever you have.
If you do not have these go to the FC4 download site and grab the fedora-release package. Download that and do a rpm -Uvh fedora-release<TAB> .that should install all of the required .repo files.

Do you mean /etc/yum.conf ? I don't think mine changed from FC3 to FC4. Even the files in /etc/yum.repos.d/ didn't need to be changed, as they had $releasever rather than 3 or 4, eg baseurl=http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/fedora/linux/core/$releasever/$basearch/os/
The only thing that actually changed, as far as I can see, is /etc/fedora-release , which now reads "Fedora Core release 4 (Stentz)".

Code name for the Fedora Core 4 release

Yes. I can't do updates without it..

Alright. Well, I amended my /etc/yum.conf file to only read the following:
[main] cachedir=/var/cache/yum debuglevel=2 logfile=/var/log/yum.log pkgpolicy=newest distroverpkg=fedora-release tolerant=1 exactarch=0
I will give things a try this way. Seems to be working right now. Will know later if it really worked..
Thanks again for your thoughts..

The default .repo files did change between FC3 and FC4 - the FC4 versions reference a gpg key in /etc/pki/rpm-gpg, which the FC3 versions didn't do.

I am getting a GPG signature error while doing RedHat Network GUI updates. Should I have done something about making sure the gpg key you mention above would work for me in FC4??

I think all the standard keys are in /usr/share/doc/fedora-release-4 , so you can just say
rpm --import /usr/share/doc/fedora-release-4/*GPG-KEY*

Thanks Paul for coming to my assistance once again.
I imported those KEY's as you said and all went well.
I wish I was more up on working with the internal workings of Fedora but I have been away from it for some time, so the simplest chores are really mind-boggling for me right now. So assistance from yourself and others like you is really appreicated..
Paul.
