Hi guys.
I do:
-> $ vainfo Trying display: wayland libva info: VA-API version 1.21.0 libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib64/dri-nonfree/radeonsi_drv_video.so libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib64/dri-freeworld/radeonsi_drv_video.so libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib64/dri/radeonsi_drv_video.so libva info: Found init function __vaDriverInit_1_21 libva info: va_openDriver() returns 0 vainfo: VA-API version: 1.21 (libva 2.21.0) vainfo: Driver version: Mesa Gallium driver 24.1.5 for AMD Radeon Graphics (radeonsi, renoir, LLVM 18.1.6, DRM 3.57, 6.10.3-200.fc40.x86_64) vainfo: Supported profile and entrypoints VAProfileMPEG2Simple : VAEntrypointVLD VAProfileMPEG2Main : VAEntrypointVLD VAProfileJPEGBaseline : VAEntrypointVLD VAProfileVP9Profile0 : VAEntrypointVLD VAProfileVP9Profile2 : VAEntrypointVLD VAProfileNone : VAEntrypointVideoProc
VAProfiles list seems short - am I missing something, something is 'misconfigured' or that is expected/normal?
many thanks, L.

Hi,
Support for some patented formats was removed from Fedora's mesa for some time now. You can install -freeworld (mesa-va-drivers-freeworld) packages from RPMFusion.
Details can be found https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/Multimedia Hardware Accelerated Codec -> Hardware codecs with AMD (mesa).
