I have problems installing MPlayer on Fedora Core. It asks me to install glibc-devel (GTK libraries) which are already installed!!!! By the way there's no package installator as in Redhat 9. Regards

glibc has not much to do with gtk.
By the way there's no package installator as in Redhat 9.
www.fedorafaq.org
And please read there how to get software (mplayer is available as an RPM). Of course Fedora has a "package installator" if you mean tools like up2date or yum.

glibc is not the gtk libraries. go to http://rpm.livna.org/
They have mplayer already compiled in their yum repository. There is no need to compile it yourself.

...but if you want to, you need the *-devel packages for all the required libs installed, too.
