Bonjour,
I try to compile gerbera in order to test this dlna server. There is an option to have mysql as a database but, mysql no longer exists on fedora, so if I activate this option, the compilation fails.
Is there a way to substitute mariadb?
Thank you for any help.

I have not heard of "gerbera". Is it common knowledge as to what it is and where it can be obtained?
Not knowing what it is, the procedure to compile, and the error messages would seem to limit the amount of help you can expect. I wonder if the place where you obtained the software may be of more assistance?
Pure guess on my part.... Do you have to run a "config" script to set up the environment to compile? Is that where detecting mysql fails?

It appears to be a replacement for mediatomb as that isn't being developed any longer. I will be looking into this myself as I currently use mediatomb.
In my experience you do not have to explicitly tell a program to substitute Maria DB for mysql. The command to start Maria DB is the same as mysql and as far as I know, all the Syntax is the same as well.

Do you have "mariadb-devel" installed? I think that should be sufficient.

OK, thanks. But I suppose one has to get around the libupnp requirement first.

That's a problem, since only 1.6.21-3 is available for F27 right now.
I just use minidlnad. It works, it's light weight and it's in the repos. Doesn't have the nice GUI for management, but I don't have any need for that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Rick Stevens, Systems Engineer, AllDigital ricks@alldigital.com - - AIM/Skype: therps2 ICQ: 226437340 Yahoo: origrps2 - - - - When in doubt, mumble. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------
