After updating a Lenovo T430S to kernel-3.6.1-1.fc17.x86_64, the system doesn't generate sound.
dmesg from a working kernel is here: http://paste2.org/p/2332429
dmesg from kernel-3.6.1-1.fc17.x86_64 is here: http://paste2.org/p/2332432
Before I file a bug report, has anyone else seen this problem?

Same here. Just updated it and audio input/output on my Lenovo X220 is gone.
Best, William

I applied the update to 3.6.2-4.fc17.x86_64 and confirmed that I still didn't have audio. I had been looking around at bugs, and thought I'd found some good leads, but found that audio had started working before I actually got to try some of the debugging steps.
The only thing I know that I did that I can imagine having any effect was removing .pulse from my home directory, and later rebooting.
I've got working audio now on 3.6.2-4.fc17.x86_64, but I'm not sure what I did to fix it.

You may have better luck on the alsa list https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
Your pastebin for the broken kernel shows an ACPI warning, I don't know if it's related, but you could try the acpi=off kernel option and see if that changes things (not a long term solution, but could be useful information).

FWIW, audio works on 3.7 kernel (in this case 3.7.0-0.rc0.git6.2.fc19.x86_64) but only with no pulseaudio installed (only alsa). When I had pulseaudio installed, no audio.

Sound works with both the 3.6.1-1.fc17.x86_64 and 3.6.2-4.fc17.x86_64 kernels om my 64 bit machines. pulseaudio is installed.
My audio is back: 3.6.2-4.fc17.x86_64

I've determined that the cause was power management. I configured the system with all of powertop's suggested power management settings, including the following, at boot:
echo '1' > '/sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/power_save';
After disabling that setting, audio hasn't presented any problems.
