Somehow you're showing up in my inbox and not filtered to the Fedora Users list. Ric

Probably because you're filtering list mail via the to or from addresses, rather than one of the list-specific headers. Careful filtering using something out of the following would work better.
X-loop: fedora-list@redhat.com X-BeenThere: fedora-list@redhat.com Reply-To: For users of Fedora fedora-list@redhat.com List-Id: For users of Fedora <fedora-list.redhat.com> List-Unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list, mailto:fedora-list-request@redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe List-Archive: https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list List-Post: mailto:fedora-list@redhat.com List-Help: mailto:fedora-list-request@redhat.com?subject=help List-Subscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list, mailto:fedora-list-request@redhat.com?subject=subscribe Sender: fedora-list-bounces@redhat.com Errors-To: fedora-list-bounces@redhat.com
If you use Evolution, which appears to be the case, you can have them automatically set up for you. When you right-click on a message to set up a rule, go through the options that refer to a mailing list.
Or, they've replied to you directly.

Try the -Y option instead of -X and see if the behaviour improves.

And don't bother with "export DISPLAY=..." because sshd sets $DISPLAY to the right value when you're using X forwarding.

I didn't say to unset it; after running ssh, don't change the value it's already set to.
Paul.

Ssh will tunnel the X connection if you leave the DISPLAY variable alone. Some things work better if you use -Y instead of -X.

One more point - if you are using X forwarding in ssh, you do not need to run "xhost +" on the local host, unless you are running ssh as a different user then the one logged in under X. If you are going to run it, run something like "xhost +localhost" or "xhost +<username>" instead. You probably do not need the extra security on a home network, but doing things securely is a good habit to get into.
