Be aware that if there are no files matching *.aa, you will get a new
file literally named that. You can use `shopt -s failglob` in bash to
make this a failure instead.
If you *know* your files don't exist but
know your filenames, you could do:
echo b | tee -a {a1,a2,a3}.aa
resulting in a1.aa, a2.aa, and a3.aa.
