error when running video in chrome -- centos6.5

Morn group.

I know this is off topic, ,but I'm flumoxed and thought maybe someone
has run into this issue and has a solution.

I've got a  centos6.5 system, running Chome --Version 31.0.1650.63

On a number of sites when I select an embedded vid to run, I get an error::

This video file cannot be played.(Error Code: 102630)

I've seen solutions that suggest getting a new version of chrome (I
can't). Disabling hardware acceleration or chrome (implemented).
Adding Adobe flash as an extension (I've tried enabling/disabling --
no luck)

Any thoughts/comments might be useful!

I have to ask.  Why can't you upgrade to the latest chrome?  Current is 76.0.3809.100, so
what you have is exceedingly old.

Hi Ed.

For centos6.5 (which I think is pretty close to EOL) the current
version is the latest in the repos.

I might have to recheck this to be sure.

Is there anything stopping you from using the google-chrome.repo?

FWIW, I'm not very familiar with what CentOS repos provide when it comes to Chrome

Are you using the google/chrome repository at:

http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/x86_64

it's at 76.

All my desktops are centos-7, so I can't swear that this will work 
with centos-6.

By the way, the current release of centos-6 is .10, so your .5 
machine is rather out of date.
