Have you tried viewing that font in some other program? Would help to
know if it's the font or Firefox.
Libreoffice, xelatex uses freefonts without any problems....
Try re-ordering the fonts so it's "font-family: Helvetica, Freeserif,
sans-serif;" (assuming you have a Helvetica). Also try FreeSans.
I haven't Helvetica, but replacing FreeSerif by Arial works (text is
displayed) .
If I suppress FreeSerif and keep Helvetica (which I haven't) firefox
uses as replacement font TeXGyrHeros....
So it seems that firefox sees that the FreeSerif family is installed but
is unable to read them! (permission are correct ie. 755 and 644)
What is strange is that the same firefox version(50.1.0) on fedora 24
reads these pages without problems. Would it mean that somme dependency
package for font rendering in firefox is faulty?
