What does the command "which firefox" tell you (entered into a
terminal)?
If you don't have /usr/bin/firefox, then you likely don't have firefox
installed the way FC installs it. FC has Firefox 1.5.0.6 with current
updates.
By the way, should there not be some tool in Fedora Core 5 like
"Find" in Windows?
There are several. A command line tool called locate will find files
using a database of all the files on your system, updated each night.
There is also the obscurely named find command.
In some Linux journals a nice domestic animal Beagle is praised. Why
is it not included in Fedora Core 5?
It is. In Gnome, it's available on the Places menu, called Search.
You can use it from the command line as well (beagle-query).
