When I am shutting down FC3, it exits out of xwindows and goes to character mode, at this point, the screen becomes unreadable, what do I need to set to get the character mode to be readalbe? Thanks.

Do you use any kind of frame-buffer? Sometimes this happens when you have a framebuffered console enabled.
I just did the install, even during the installation I am unable to read the screen when its in character mode. How do I know if I have frame-buffer enabled?
Thanks.

Didn't you just post this question in another thread?
Anyhow, have a look at my home page (URL below) and you'll find a few different tricks to work around this problem on HP Presario r3000 or similar notebooks.
