Hi,
After updating from fc5 to fc6 I'm trying to get mplayer working again. On FC5, I was able to view bbc sites, such as
and click on any of the view icons
however with fc5 it worked, the mplayer plugin fired up. With fc6 it does. If I try and open the url by hand I get
mplayer http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/help/3681938.stm
Win32 LoadLibrary failed to load: avisynth.dll, /usr/lib/codecs/avisynth.dll, /usr/lib/win32/avisynth.dll, /usr/local/lib/win32/avisynth.dll
Has anyone managed to get this to work ?

from that error I just made links to /usr/lib/codecs from /usr/lib/win32 and /usr/local/lib/win32 just to be sure it would be found. It worked. Ric

Sorry, should have been clearer.
I also tried that. The problem is I don't have a copy of avisynth.dll ... Where did you get it from ?
cheers Chris

My Gawd, you would have asked... I did a locate on it and found it only in the root directory!! WTF? I have no clue how it got there. Man, I'm boggled already on a Saturday afternoon. <sweats profusely> I guess I'll stick it back where it belongs. want me to directly email attach a copy of it?? What I have might beat having an empty hole in your codecs directory! <giggles> Ric
