I've looked at the man for iwconfig, but could not find an answer to this question:
When I use iwconfig to update wireless parameters, I'm "assuming" there is a file that gets updated somewhere. Is this an ASCII file that can be directly edited? Or, is iwconfig updating a binary file somewhere on the system?
Thanks..Terry

No file gets updated anywhere.

Think of an iwconfig command like an iptables command. No files get updated. The command is just executed.
Thanks..Terry

The device can be edited at /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices. I'm not entirely sure if that is what you mean or need.
Thanks..Terry
