I tried using the command /etc/inputrc and i got 'permission denied' I am new to FC/linux the command was used in 'terminal' Can anyone tell me how i can overcome this ?

/etc/inputrc is not a command, it's a configuration file that you can edit.

You'll need to use your favourite editor to add that line to /etc/inputrc if you want this to affect all users of the system, or edit your own ~/.inputrc file if it's just for you. It's best to try things out for your own account first before making changes that affect everyone.
