I use to be able to view these formats when I had GXINE installed on Centos on this notebook. Can't know.
I did install all the gstreamer stuff:
Jan 02 23:47:47 Installed: gstreamer-plugins-flumpegdemux-0.10.15-8.fc12.i686 Jan 02 23:50:28 Installed: gstreamer-ffmpeg-0.10.9-1.fc12.i686 Jan 15 10:18:24 Updated: PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin-0.5.6-1.fc12.i686 Jan 19 16:39:02 Updated: gstreamer-tools-0.10.25.1-3.fc12.i686 Jan 19 16:39:05 Updated: gstreamer-0.10.25.1-3.fc12.i686
Or at least those I found, and I can LISTEN to mp3 music in gxine, just not view an mp3 video (or an mp4 video).
What am I missing?
thanks

Well, I tried a few. vlc works, but gxine still does not. OK, vlc is actually decent now, compared to what I saw a year ago, but why is gxine not playing any of this stuff????

mp3 is an audio codec, if you find software which will let you view it tell us about it. For viewing *anything* I suggest vlc.
