I got the following output from this command:

repoquery --whatprovides libgvc.so.2
graphviz-0:2.8-5.fc6.i386

I removed graphviz and then was able to install Anjuta, so I no longer 
have this problem, but also cannot diagnose what might have caused it.

Anyway, thanks for the pointer re repoquery.

Well, you had an incompatible and newer version of graphviz installed,
which blocked the correct one in the repository from being installed,
because it had a lower version.
