extended partition

Hello,

I just got a SSD (not virgin), but I cannot create an extended partition.

fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sdb: 477 GiB, 512110190592 bytes, 1000215216 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disklabel type: gpt
Disk identifier: 4D6479F4-D61A-4DEA-8F60-35EFBFE445C2

Is there a reason?

gpt disk/SSDs do not have extended partitions

Use gdisk to add extra partition(s)
Up to 255 partitions maybe

And/Or blast it away with dd and start again
