Can I just do a "yum remove *.fc18.*" to remove those packages since I should have the F20 versions now?

I'd advise against blindly doing so.
First, try a 'yum distro-sync'. This will make sure you have the newest versions of those packages that are available in repos you have enabled.
Next, 'yum list extras' which will tell you packages you have installed that are not in any enabled repo you have. If the fc18 ones are in this, it's probibly safe to yum remove them. If they aren't likely they are packages that failed to rebuild in the f19/f20 cycles.

You want to run
package-cleanup --dupes
This will print the F18 packages that also have F20 installed. Erase only those (which could easily be scripted).
