Hello,
I have an old BlackBerry Z30 successfully paired with my Fedora 32 desktop. I can send files to the phone from Fedora without any problems. But, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to receive files from the phone.
Every time I try to share a file over BlueTooth from the phone to my paired desktop, the phone starts the transfer and then immediately errors out with the message, "Failed to find service".
I've tried a number very random things, but nothing seems to work. I don't even know how to start explaining what I've tried. :/ Frustrated doesn't begin to explain what I'm feeling right now because two other file transfer methods from the phone that have worked in years past refuse to work now. I figured that Bluetooth would be the simplest!
Is this suppose to just work or have I neglected to do something?

I've not done this in a long time since I've found that using "kdeconnect" with a KDE desktop is faster transferring files over the network.
What I think you may be missing is the bluez-obexd package being installed. Once you install that and logout/login you should have /usr/libexec/bluetooth/obexd running under your username. I believe that is the the service needed.

That was one of things I found and checked. The RPM is already installed and I can see the obexd service running:
[ranbir@master ~]$ ps -o user,pid,start,cmd --headers -C obexd USER PID STARTED CMD ranbir 29025 15:32:16 /usr/libexec/bluetooth/obexd
[ranbir@master ~] rpm -qi bluez-obexd Name : bluez-obexd Version : 5.55 Release : 1.fc32 Architecture: x86_64 Install Date: Fri 18 Dec 2020 01:48:52 PM [snip]

OK. Well here is some additional information to consider.
Today I tried transferring files from both a Samsung phone and Google Pixel phone and both failed. As I mentioned, it has been awhile since I've tried this. Then I recalled I had changed my Bluetooth Dongle. I put the old one back in and transfers are working with the older dongle. So, you too may have an issue with the model of Bluetooth adapter in use.
I'll say again that I've found using kdeconnect faster and more reliable than BT. So, I either use that or sftp from an application on my phone.

That could be it. I gave up though and just did it from my Windows 10 laptop.

I'll try that next time.
Thanks for your help.

Even faster is to plug it into a USB port and directly transfer the files.

Except when you don't have an extra USB cable and the ones you do have are connected to wireless chargers connected to an extension cord tucked under an end table. And your Pixel phone cable has 2 USB-C ends and you've no idea what happened to the adapter. :-) :-)

I had to get into the secret developer mode to make that work on my Samsung phone.
