Dear All,
I am trying to boot in my F10 partition, but just before the grub menu appears (and it does not show up), I get the following error:
"Read error".
I cannot boot anymore.
Any ideas? Yesterday, everything was working fine.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

In addition, when I boot in the rescue CD, I get the following error:
"ERROR: pdc: reading /dev/sda[Input/output error]".
Any ideas?

Moreover, in my BIOS, I see:
IDE Channel 0 Master [BzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBz]
Before, I saw something like
IDE Channel 0 Master WCD....
Any ideas?

'Fraid that sounds a lot like a dead disk, but if you have unused disk ports you could try plugging the disk in to a different port, changing the cable, using a different power plug, and all the simple stuff that probably won't work, but is easy to check before you actually decide you have to swap the disk out.

Check your cables and power connections for the drives.

Thanks, Tom and Mikkel. After having checked the cables connections, my hard disk is correctly recognized by the BIOS. However, when I try to boot in it, I get the following error:
Grub Error 17: Cannot Mount Selected Partition
Any ideas?

Never mind, it is solved now: I went back to BIOS and set it to boot from the original HDD.
