read and replied with results. there was a problem of something missing
for online install. there, i pulled .rpm's from several sites, including
fedora.

What is the " 2" doing at the end of the command-line?
that was one of my questions. borrow my glasses? ;o)
Btw, you would need "yum localinstall ..." for Yum to
resolve
dependencies of locally downloaded packages.
does this include calling as './thundbird-2.0*.rpm' ?
would think yum would pick up on this and act as 'localinstall'.
Why did you download it from koji instead of simply running "yum
install
thunderbird"?
not much to do at time, figured that as long as i would be pulling
files, 1 out of 3 had to be a good load and work.
The signed package is included in the official repositories
and your favourite nearby mirror.
i pulled f8 i386 torrent from fedora and is what i am in now;
[geo@argosyiayia ~]$ uname -a
Linux argosyiayia.ciee.lab 2.6.23.1-42.fc8 #1 SMP Tue Oct 30 \
13:55:12 EDT 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
You could still install it with the corresponding Yum option to
ignore the GPG signature check, but that is not recommended.
while i was replying to this, i kick up another term, #5 and entered
'yum install thunderbird'.
so, i d&d what i grin about,,,
