Typing Emoji in F26?

I found the F25 typing feature "Ctrl + Shift + e" for Emoji entry, as
documented in a Fedora Magazine article[1], very useful. However, it
appears broken in F26. Is there an existing bug, or does anybody know how
to get this working in F26 again?

Works just fine for me.  I'm using F26 KDE....  👹🐴
