It works better if you attach the URL. Thank you, Doncho N. Gunchev, for pointing this out. Doh.

I've had an interruption in email service, so I may not see all the comments folks have posted to this (if any :-).
I've taken my notes on building a yum repsitory and expanded them to include notes on upgrading using a yum repository. I have not yet released document under the GDFL, but will do so when it is in suitable shape for release. I would appreciate your comments on the notes.
yum list readers: I'm not on the yum list, so please CC me with your comments.
Thanks
Hi, I upgraded my RH 9.0 install yesterday to the Fedora Test 3 distro. I decided my work machine would have to be the sacrificial test bed before I start in on the rest of th network.
So far most of the apps are working without any problems, but Open Office is giving me trouble. With the new version the install program has returned and I can't run any of the apps without going through the installer. I'm using the rpm version of it distributed with Fedora, so why does it want to install 200+ MB of stuff into my home directory?
How do I get rid of this installer and go back to simply being able to use the executables from their installed locations?

--- cut --- Try removing .openoffice from your home directory, it worked for me when when I got old one into my home (RH9, not fedora). Hope this helps...
Hey, that got it! Thanks!
I still have an error printed if I start off the console, but it can't be too terrible since everything still works.
[sleepylight@host65-239 ~]$ oowriter sed: can't read /home/sleepylight/.openoffice/user/config/registry/instance/org/openoffice/Setup.xml: No such file or directory Starting OpenOffice.org ...

Have you tried latest Gnumeric and Abiword? I abandoned OO for spreadsheets and Abiword is useable, only time I see Abi crash is when saving docs to a samba box.
But latest OO seems to be usable for me for spreadsheets but Gnumeric is much faster and haven't crashed on anything. It also has better import handling of xls which I get stuck dealing with.
