Folks, I'm running F40 and one system and F41 on another. Both systems are running MATE desktop. I have MATE desktop configured to remember running applications on logout. However, when I log into my system previous mate-terminals are not restored to their previous sizes. On login all mate-terminals are restored to 44x7 regardless of what they were previously. This problem only shows up on the MATE desktop + mater-terminal combination. Other terminal programs such as xfce-terminal are restored correctly. Also running Xfce desktop with mate-terminal results in mate-terminal sessions restored correctly. So as I said the problem only occurs with MATE desktop + mate-terminal. I want to file a bug since this is annoying as hell, but I don't know what package I should file it against. This started happening after I upgraded one system from F39 to F40, and the other from F39 to F40 to F41. Which package should I file the bug against?

I don't run MATE, mate. But by a process of elimination, a core MATE package is probably your starting point?
Looking at the results of a DNF search, these look like good potential matches:
mate-common.noarch mate-desktop.x86_64 mate-desktop-libs.x86_64
Or you could open it against https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-terminal/issues and hope it's routed appropriately.
Also, don't forget if this is a common problem, you may not be alone, so it's worth looking at wherever MATE track bugs upstream in case it's already reported.
https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/in-mate-1-28-2-terminal-restarts-with-wrong-... sounds similar to your observed issue.
You might want to rummage through: - https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-terminal/issues - https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-desktop/issues
And don't limit your research to open issues, it could already be resolved upstream but not yet have trickled down into Fedora.
