mp3 right from the start

Hi there!

I know this topic has already been discussed a lot and I don't want to
discuss it again. I just wonder, how to enable mp3 (and other codecs)
again. XMMS is very easy, but I want to enable it in general, e.g. in
sound-juicer, and that means, that means I'll need all the codecs in
gstreamer, right?

So are there already packages available or can I just install all
necessary devel-packages and rebuild the packages. Will rebuilding the
redhat srpms with installed codecs be enough or do I need the original
gstreamer packages?
