Unable to Display English Characters

[Singapore Citizen Mr. Teo En Ming (Zhang Enming)]

Hi,

I need help. I have just installed Fedora 17 from the DVD. I used text 
mode installation and later converted to GUI mode using

yum groupinstall "X Window System" Desktop

and configuring systemd.

Please refer to the image below. The GUI cannot display English 
characters. All I get are square boxes.

Thank you for your reply.

I have solved the problem. After the text mode installation of Fedora 
17, I issued the following commands instead:

yum groupinstall "X Window System"
yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop Environment"

First guess - you're simply missing some basic fonts.  You could add a
