I'm preparing to install an application (compiere) that runs off of oracle (10g I believe) and would like to know if Oracle will run on it. I haven't run it and as I know it runs on linux, the issue I have will it will run with the latest kernel as well as the changes with the glibc library and native POSIX threading changes that took place between rh8 and rh9 affected many applications.
It's my first Oracle install.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks,
James

Not sure if I understand your question correctly but usually the first place to start when it comes to oracle and linux is this site: http://www.puschitz.com/OracleOnLinux.shtml

You tried google (as well this list's archive)?
http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/OracleDB10gInstallationOnFedora3.php
http://staff.in2.hr/denis/oracle/10g1install_fedora3_en.html
Really not that hard to find.

You've got couple of good references about installing Oracle on newer RadHatish systems. I'd just add that you should keep in mind that installing Oracle on anything but exact OS versions as listed in Oracle documentation is not supported. If you run into problems, you are on your own.
any worse the metalink/or phone support :) ?
not once has i received an answer from oracle any faster or with better info the what i've found on the net.
-pete "what did we pay for oracle this year ? yikes"
