Why do I have 47 bazillion lines of this sort of stuff in my logs:
Jan 30 19:55:13 tomh polkitd[1151]: Registered Authentication Agent for unix-process:4457:4527106 (system bus name :1.3718 [flatpak --installations], object path /org/freedesktop/PolicyKit1/AuthenticationAgent, locale en_US.UTF-8) Jan 30 19:55:13 tomh polkitd[1151]: Unregistered Authentication Agent for unix-process:4457:4527106 (system bus name :1.3718, object path /org/freedesktop/PolicyKit1/AuthenticationAgent, locale en_US.UTF-8) (disconnected from bus)
It seems to me that systemd (journald) really generates more useless spam like this than it produces useful log information

The log message quoted below was "generated" by policy kit -- not systemd or journald.

The log message quoted below was "generated" by policy kit -- not systemd or journald.
But it was triggered by a flatpak command in /etc/profile.d/flatpak.sh which runs on every shell instance (like the ones in some cron jobs I have that run every 5 minutes).
That file no longer exists on my system, and my logs are much cleaner :-).
