Kernel 2.6.23 & madwifi

I had trouble, when I upgraded to kernel 2.6.23, with madwifi. The
module didn't load nor was loadable with modprobe.

Maybe there's some bugs on the kmod-madwifi package. Anybody had the
same?

Yes, that's why livna provides:

kmod-madwifi.x86_64                      0.9.3.3-1.2.6.23.1_10.  
madwifi.x86_64                           0.9.3.3-3.lvn7   

those are supposed to the kernel module and the madwifi package.
Besides, if you try:
yum upgrade -y

You will see that, yum resolves deps for the kernel, these include both
packages listed above, if installed.

I have them installed right now, and kmod-madwifi.x86_64 is not loading.
I suspect the packager made a mistake.

Yeah, that's an alternative; then again, with all due respect, why would
livna make those RPMs if we're just gonna compile? Why use RPMs overall?

Thanks and I d/l the tar ball from madwifi.org and I will get my laptop 
updated this afternoon and then update madwifi :-)

You have to upgrade the kmod-madwifi package to the same level as the kernel.

Because I use madwifi snapshots drivers from
http://snapshots.madwifi.org/madwifi-ng/

Last version tested is one made in 18 Oct 2007 and rpms are build on
2.6.23.1-41.fc8 kernel

The case being made here for DKMS.
