So.. If that's the case.. can you tell me how to _manually_ install it?? The extension is .xpi and thus, I'm not familiar with that kind of file.

You should be able to go to http://texturizer.net/firebird/extensions and click install on each extension you like; usually they will prompt to install in either .phoenix *or* /usr/lib/mozilla.
I found that I had issues with this a few months ago; so I've taken to the practice of installing it in my home directory...
