Hi there,
On my laptop I dual-boot Fedora - running it either on the real hardware or inside a VirtualBox from its native partition. Thanks to not having persistent information about hardware (registry) - this works absolutly flawless - in VirtualBox the vbox drivers are loaded while on the real hardware I get the real drivers including OpenGL and everything else.
However with recent kernels (~4.9+) the system hangs at the following items:
Starting Hold until boot process finishes up... Starting Terminate Plymouth Boot Screen...
When I boot with 4.5.4 (fc24 leftover) everything works, the whole userland/userspace is unchanged.
I wonder ... has anybody else experienced this issue?
Thank you in advance & best regards, Clemens

I don't use virtualbox, but try removing "rhgb" and "quiet" from the boot command line. That should at least give you more information about where it's getting stuck.
Also, you could try booting not in virtualbox, then running "journalctl -b-1" to see if there is any information from the virtualbox attempt.
Hi Samuel, works fine here:
VBox Client: Kernel 4.9.11-200.fc25.X86_64
Host:
VirtualBox-5.1-5.1.14_112924_fedora25-1.x86_64 on 4.9.12-200.fc25.x86_64
